The University of Barcelona's new Masters of Law in International Economic Law and Policy (LL.M. IELPO) features 33 weeks of learning from many of the most renowned experts drawn from leading law and economics faculties, international organisations, and research centres around the world. The IELPO programme revolves around 7 teaching modules whose aim is to equip participants with in-depth knowledge and the analytical tools required of cutting-edge practitioners in all major fields of international legal and economic governance today. While the program's core foundation remains legal in character, a unique feature of the IELPO LLM is to provide students with the means of applying a pluri-disciplinary approach to problem solving, allowing them to draw on the key insights of legal, economic and international political economy approaches to the issues covered by the program. A unique feature of the program also lies in its emphasis on comparative dynamics, providing students with a robust understanding of the various forces shaping approaches to international economic governance in the Americas, Europe and Asia. The IELPO LLM will prove attractive to students with a background in law, economics and/or international relations and whose professional interests include international legal practice, economic diplomacy, public sector consulting as well as careers in leading regional and international organizations.  

World Trade Institute

The World Trade Institute (WTI) is a joint research and teaching center of the Universities of Berne, Fribourg and Neuchâtel. Our work focuses on international trade regulation and is characterized by the integration of interdisciplinary approaches to the analysis of international trade. Our flagship program is the Master's Program in International Law and Economics (MILE). Other teaching programs include a summer program on international trade regulation and various tailor-made courses for different audiences. Research is the Institute's second pillar. Since 2005, it has been hosting the National Centre of Competence in Research on "International Trade Regulation: From Fragmentation to Coherence". Finally, the WTI regularly provides consulting services to a variety of clients, including national governments and NGOs.
