Seventh Edition - 2008/2009


The 7th Edition of ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law (EMC² ) has concluded.

On the 23rd May 2009 in Howard International House, the final mooting battle took place between the University of Melbourne School of Law, Australia and DukeUniversity, School of Law, United States of America. The Grand Final Panel announced their decision that the team from the University of Melbourne School of Law won the 7th Edition of the ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law.

The Grand Final Panel was composed of the following WTO Law experts:

  • Professor. Mitsuo Matsushita (Former WTO Appellate Body Member (1995-2000) and Chairperson of the EMC² 2008-2009 Grand Final Panel;
  • Ms. Jen-ni Yang (Office of Trade Negotiations – Ministry of Economic Affairs, Chinese Taipei);
  • Mr. Lothar Ehring (Directore-General for Trade, European Commission);
  • Ms. Victoria Donaldson (WTO Appellate Body Secretariat),
  • Ms. Marie-Isabelle Pellan (Trade and Environment Division, WTO Secretariat,
  • Ms. Aegyoung Jung (Legal Affairs Division, WTO Secretariat),
  • Professor Mary Hiscock (BondUniversity, Australia)
  • Professor Bradly Condon (Institue Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and 2008-2009 Case Author), and
  • Professor Shin-yi Peng (Institute of Law for Science & Technology, NationalTsingHuaUniversity and 2007-2008 Case Author).
